What is a super-tweeter/tweeter?
TweeterThere is no clear differentiation though it is called a usual tweeter that takes charge of a high region to 20khz, and calls a super-tweeter that reproduces to a super-high region of 20khz or more generally. Present single goods tweeter is a tweeter, a super-tweeter in an expensive model [rumonogaho], [ndearuga], and the mark exceeding 20khz, and is considerably suitable.
The band of which it takes charge
- Band of 1500-5000hz or more in case of 2way
- Band of 3000-7000hz or more in case of 3way
However, it is allocated in the tweeter in [ippan].
Kind of tweeter
Because the piston should move at high speed, the vibration board becomes considerably smaller than the subwoofer though the width of swinging of the vibration board need not move a large amount of air to the feature of the band of the tweeter like a low region. Moreover, because the directivity is sharp, the one with small area becomes more advantageous as for the band of the tweeter. There are a lot of forms of tweeters like the corn type, the horn type, dome-shaped, the ribbon type, and the [hairu] type, etc.
Necessity of super-high region reproduction of 20khz or more
"It is possible to catch it in the complex sound" seems to be a foothold of super-high region reproduction assentor's theory though man's ear can catch even only 20khz in the pure sound (signature waving). The overtone is included in overtone elements of musical instruments in about 40khz and the tambourine in the violin even as for 100khz, and it is theoretically needless to say that these overtone elements are reproduced actually and it is needless to say that it is preferable.
However, it seems that the following requirements are necessary so that these super-high region reproductions may demonstrate the effect.
- Music must be recorded with the mike that can be recorded to 100khz.
- Reproduce by the source that can record even 100khz. (It is possible by SACD. )
- Output by the tweeter that even 100khz is reproduced.
- Have the ability that the ear of the person who hears audio catches the difference of those sounds.
